HUNTSVILLE | The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2021 Division II All-Americans on Tuesday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Kendall Scharbert as an All-American Honorable Mention.
 
Scharbert was also an AVCA All-South Region honorable mention.
 
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Scharbert has been a significant presence for the Chargers in the 2021 campaign as she leads the team and ranks sixth in the Gulf South Conference with .306 hitting percentage on 257 kills while rating fifth in the conference with 108 total blocks.
 
In her career, Scharbert boasts a .292 hitting percentage to rank fourth in program history as she also rates fourth in the team's history with 1.0 blocks per set for 266 total blocks.
 
UAH wrapped up the 2021 campaign with an NCAA tournament appearance at the 2021 NCAA South Regional, as the squad had a 21-10 overall record and 13-3 mark in GSC play.
