HUNTSVILLE | The 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Teams have been announced, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team is represented by junior Katie Gerber who is a member of the team from District 5.
 
This is Gerber's second career Academic All-District distinction.
 
District 5 for the purpose of the at-large teams is comprised of institutions from the South Region, and voting is conducted by the region's athletics communications professionals who are members of CoSIDA.
 
The 2021 GSC Championships Scholar-Athlete, Gerber appeared in all 15 of the Chargers games this season with 69 points on 39 goals and 30 assists to go along with a roster-leading 92 draw controls. She additionally boasts a 4.0 GPA as a nursing major at UAH.
 
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced at a later date..
 
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
