Katie Gerber Named First-Ever UAH Women's Lacrosse CoSIDA Academic All-American

HUNTSVILLE | The 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-American At-Large honorees were announced on Thursday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team was represented by Katie Gerber as the program's first-ever Academic All-American.
 
In addition to being the first UAH women's lacrosse CoSIDA Academic All-American, Gerber becomes the 25th honoree in the department's history.
 
A native of Louisville, Gerber was a key performer in the Chargers' 2021 GSC Championship season as she ranked third on the team with 69 points on 39 goals and 30 assists while leading the roster with 92 draw controls.
 
Gerber – who was named the GSC Championships Scholar-Athlete – additionally boasted a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a nursing major in the 2020-21 academic year.
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-American At-Large selections come from a pool of athletes that compete in beach volleyball, bowling, crew, golf, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, water polo, field hockey, gymnastics and skiing.
