BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly women's basketball award winners on Tuesday morning, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Andie Flatgard as GSC Freshman of the Week.
 
This is Flatgard's first career weekly honor from the GSC and the first by a UAH player in the 2022-23 season.
 
A native of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Flatgard guided the Chargers offense with a team-high 5.0 assists per game over three games this past week as she also led all UAH freshmen with 5.3 rebounds per game and 6.7 points per game.
 
Flatgard's top performance came in Sunday's victory over Shorter when she posted 10 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go along with four rebounds and three assists over a team-high 37 minutes on the floor.
 
This season, Flatgard has started all eight games so far with a roster-leading 35.3 minutes per game in addition to posting 8.3 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.
 
UAH hits the road this upcoming weekend with games at Delta State on Friday and Mississippi College on Sunday.
