BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly baseball award winners, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by
Jackson Lindsey as GSC Freshman of the Week.

Lindsey is the first Chargers to earn a weekly GSC honor and the first GSC Freshman of the Week since
Carson Villalta earned the honor on April 27 of last season.

A native of Russellville, Alabama, Lindsey was the Chargers leading slugger at the Peachtree City Classic with a team-high .800 slugging percentage on a .400 batting average (6-for-15). He had two homers in a single game against Cedarville, including a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh to help UAH to the win.

He additionally tied for the team lead with eight RBI and two steals over the four-game weekend slate.

Overall in 2022, Lindsey boasts a .370 batting average over seven games with seven runs, one double, two homers, nine RBI and three walks.

UAH looks ahead to a Tuesday matchup at 2 p.m. with Trevecca Nazarene at Charger Park before heading to Valdosta State on Saturday and Sunday to start GSC play.
