GREENSBORO, N.C. | Freshman third baseman Seth Staggs was named to the 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II South All-Region Second Team, the organization announced Wednesday.

Staggs put together a standout freshman season for the Chargers, leading the team with a .386 batting average, 54 hits, 45 runs scored and a .503 on-base percentage. His batting average ranked fourth in the Gulf South Conference, while his on-base percentage was third-best in the league.

The third baseman also added 13 doubles, which ranked second on the team.

Staggs earned GSC Freshman of the Week honors on April 14 after going 8-for-10 in a three-game series at Mississippi College with four doubles, five runs scored, one RBI and one walk.

He also posted a 23-game hitting streak from Feb. 21 through April 11, setting a UAH freshman record.

The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year were selected by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and coordinated by the ABCA NCAA Division II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
