JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team dropped a nonconference matchup at Carson-Newman by a score of 12-8 on Wednesday afternoon. UAH slips to 12-19, while C-N improves to 19-15.

The Chargers offense totaled 15 base hits against the Eagles, including five extra-base hits.
Jackson Lindsey led UAH in hits, going 4-for-5 with one run, one RBI and one double.

Freshman
Will Noles paced the Chargers with four RBI in a 2-for-5 day at the plate, as he notched a grand slam in the third inning for his career home run.

Garrett Bodine and
Landon Ezzell went 2-for-5 in the game with each posting a solo home run in the contest. Bodine's homer was his fifth of the season, while Ezzell takes the team lead with eight round-trippers in 2022.

Will Griffith started on the mound for the Chargers, and he turned in 1.0 inning with one run allowed and one strikeout for a no-decision.

Aubry Cleghorn was tagged with the loss to slip his season record to 1-2, after working 1.0 inning of relief with three runs allowed and a team-high two strikeouts.

Cole Turner and
Justin Perreault each had a scoreless outing out of the bullpen to lead the Chargers pitching staff.

Carson-Newman went ahead with one run apiece in the first and second innings, before UAH went ahead with a five-run bottom of the third that was highlighted by Noles' grand slam.

The hosts regained the lead in the third with four runs, but UAH would take that advantage back at 7-6 with two runs off Bodine's solo home run and Lindsey's RBI double.

The Eagles went ahead for good with three runs scoring in the fifth, as they also added two runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh to carry them to the 12-8 win. UAH's final run of the game came on Ezzell's solo home run in the sixth.

UAH returns to Gulf South Conference action this Friday and Saturday at Charger Park. Friday's series-opener is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch, prior to Saturday's doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
