UAH Welcomes PBC Foe Young Harris on Saturday

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team will look to continue its strong start to conference play on Saturday when the Chargers welcome Young Harris to Charger Park for a 1 p.m. contest. UAH enters the game at 6-6 (2-0 Peach Belt Conference), while YHC is 0-11 (0-2 PBC).

Admission to Saturday's game is free courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

After rolling past Shorter 18-4 in the conference opener, the Chargers picked up a key 14-13 road win at Montevallo last weekend to keep pace with Lander and Flagler who also have both started 2-0 in PBC action.

The top two teams at the end of the regular season will receive a bye into the PBC tournament semifinals which will be hosted by the top seed.

The 17 goals UAH has allowed in conference play represent the second-fewest behind Flagler's 14, and the team has been especially disciplined in league action, committing just three penalties in the two games which substantially leads the PBC.

The Chargers also feature the second-best faceoff percentage in the conference when including all games played at 52.4 percent, and Hunter Coleman's 60.0 percent success rate in faceoffs is the top number in the league.

Young Harris – who did not field a team last season – has struggled offensively, scoring just 7.9 goals per game, while also allowing 15.6 goals per contest. Tommy Chriszt leads the Mountain Lions offensively with 21 goals and 19 assists, and his 21-goal total is matched by Gunnar Fagerstrom.

UAH is 1-3 all-time against Young Harris, but the two programs have not met since the Chargers picked up a 10-8 road win in 2019.
