CLINTON, Miss. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's track & field team wrapped up the 2022 Gulf South Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in second place in the team standings.

UAH has now finished second in each of the past four GSC outdoor championships.

Overall, the Chargers had five First Team All-GSC honors as well as six Second Team All-GSC performances at the 2022 GSC Outdoor Championships.

Moreover,
Morgan Aldridge was named the 2022 GSC Outdoor Championships Scholar-Athlete, which awards the student-athlete competing at its GSC championship with the highest overall GPA.

Katie Long led UAH in the field with a first-place toss of 41.40 meters in the javelin, as she was joined on the podium in the event by
Ronni VanZant in third place at 34.29 meters.

UAH additionally notched two Second Team All-GSC performers in the pole vault, with
Emee Baldwin and
Lauren Hamm tying at 3.35 meters.

The Chargers 100-meter relay team of
Chelsie Burnett,
Zakiria Holifield,
Chandler Robinson, and
Krystalynn Oatman finished first with a time of 45.73 to highlight UAH's sprinting performances.

UAH also notched Second Team All-GSC performances in four running events, including Oatman in the 100-meter dash at 11.87,
Zakiria Holifield in the 200-meter sprint at 24.09, and
Nikki Mata in 400-meter hurdles at 1:03.84.

Additionally, UAH's 400-meter relay team Mata,
Erin Cannon, Burnett and VanZant finished second in the event with a time of 3:54.07.
