HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's lacrosse team continues its five-game homestand to start the season with two matchups against Sunshine State Conference opponents at Charger Park this weekend including Saint Leo on Friday at 7 p.m. and Embry Riddle on Sunday at noon.

Admission to all regular season home games at Charger Park is free again this season, courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The Chargers are currently 1-1 overall in the 2023 campaign, following a 22-4 victory on Saturday afternoon at Charger Park over visiting Emmanuel. Senior
Brody Phillips led UAH with six points on four goals and two assists in the win, garnering him Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Phillips additionally is the overall leader for the Chargers to start the season, as he owns a team-best nine points from four goals and nine assists. In his career, he owns 143 points from 79 goals and 58 assists.

Freshman
Dylan Needs has played the majority of time in goal for UAH so far in 2023, as he's worked 90 minutes between the pipes with 15 saves. He is helped defensively by UAH's 31 caused turnovers as a team, led by
Collin Galinski with six.

Saint Leo enters Friday's contest with a 0-1 overall record, after narrowly falling to Limestone at home on Saturday by a score of 17-15. The Lions were led in the contest by Justin Williams with seven points (5g-2a), while Chase Strait played the full time in goal for SLU with 17 saves.

Embry Riddle starts out the week with a 1-2 overall record, following a 15-10 loss at home to Anderson on Sunday. Coleman Jacobs leads the Eagles with nine points on eight goals and one assist this season, while Reid Kerr and Carter Groezinger have split time in goal for a combined 13.67 goals against average and .423 save percentage.

UAH holds all-time series records of 0-5 against SLU and 2-0 against ERAU.

After this weekend's games, the Chargers wrap up the five-game homestand next Sunday with a visit from Davenport.
