UAH Records Six NCAA Provisional Marks at Lee Invitational

CLEVELAND, Tenn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's and women's track & field teams continued the 2023 outdoor campaign at the Lee Flames Invitational on Saturday with six NCAA provisional marks recorded by the Chargers.

Women's Notables
-Ijah Drake topped the NCAA provisional standard in the 200-meter dash with a first-place time of 24.06. She additionally earned third place in 100-meter hurdles at 14.51 and second in the 100-meter sprint at 11.90.
-UAH's 4x100 meters relay team of Krystalynn Oatman, Zakiria Holifield, Chandler Robinson and Drake landed on the national list with a first-place time of 46.12.
-Nikki Mata generated a first-place time of 1:05.95 in 400-meter hurdles.
-Amelia Brady claimed first in the 10,000-meter race at a time of 39:51.25.
-UAH had a pair of first-place marks in two throwing events, including Bailey Weible in the discus at 41.25 meters and Hannah Gant in the hammer throw at 47.83 meters.
-Lauren Hamm recorded a second-place height of 3.36 meters in the pole vault.
 
Men's Notables
-Michael Gizzi garnered first place and achieved an NCAA provisional time in the 100-meter dash with a clocking of 10.23.
-The Chargers notched the top two times in 110-meter hurdles, as Wilson McClain finished first at 13.96 followed by Jeremiah McCain in second at 14.32.
-UAH's 4x100 meters relay team consisting of Tommy Rodriguez, Elijah Drake, McClain and Gizzi bested the NCAA provisional standard with a first-place time of 40.74 in the event.
-Deanderick Wilson finished first overall in 400 meters at a time of 48.57.
- Rodriguez notched second overall in 400-meter hurdles at a time of 55.50.
-Conner Patterson notched a second-place time of 1:53.89 in 800 meters.
-UAH's 4x400 meters relay team of Gizzi, Wilson, Rodriguez and Dantavious Thomas earned first in the event at a time of 3:18.64.
-Noah Lawler took home the top spot in the long jump with a first-place leap of 6.32 meters.
-Thomas additionally earned first in the triple jump at 11.61 meters.
-Thomas Vaughn placed second in the pole vault at a height of 4.41 meters.
-Sam Wilhelm earned first overall in the 5000-meter race at a time of 14:25.73, and was followed up by teammate Allan Anderson in second at 14:45.93.
