HUNTSVILLE | The College Sports Communicators announced their 2023 Women's At-Large Academic All-District Teams, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by women's lacrosse senior defender
Cameron Crews, graduate student attacker
Katie Gerber, senior defender
Riley Kirby, and junior midfielder
Isadora Springer.

UAH's honorees represent District V which is composed of schools from the NCAA Division II South Region.

Crews started all 18 games and led the Chargers in caused turnovers with 24 while earning first team All-GSC honors.

Another first team All-GSC Selection, Gerber ranked third on the team with 48 points from 29 goals and 19 assists. She finishes her career ranked first all-time at UAH in draw controls with 306, second all-time at UAH in points with 274, second all-time at UAH in goals with 176, and second all-time at UAH in assists with 98.

Kirby earned second team All-GSC status this season and ranked second on the team behind Crews with 21 caused turnovers for the year.Â

A native of Collierville, Tenn., Springer led the Chargers with 49 goals on the season while ranking second on the team with 53 points to earn second team All-GSC honors.Â

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
