HUNTSVILLE | The College Sports Communicators announced their 2023 Men's At-Large Academic All-District Teams, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by men's lacrosse sophomore long-stick midfielder
Alex Dorenkott and senior midfielder
Trevor Redmond.
UAH's honorees represent District V which is composed of schools from the NCAA Division II South Region.
Dorenkott started all 17 games for the Chargers and rated third-best on the roster with 17 caused turnovers while also picking up 37 ground balls. The Lake Mary, Fla. native also added two goals on the season.
Redmond appeared in all 17 contests for UAH, causing seven turnovers and picking up 17 ground balls while also scoring one goal and adding two assists.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
