Kiara Hill Garners GSC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

BIRMINGHAM | The Gulf South Conference announced its volleyball player of the week awards on Tuesday and UAH's Kiara Hill has been named Defensive Player of the Week after her performances over the weekend. 

The senior from Madison, Alabama, collected 16 total blocks, including 12 block assists and 4 solo blocks during a 3-0 weekend for the Chargers, including a win over No. 12 Barry and handing Anderson (S.C.) their first loss of the season. 

She is the first Charger to win a GSC player of the week award since the 2021 season when Shayla Libby and Kendall Scharbert earned the award during the final week of the regular season.

Hill's 1.23 blocks per set led the team while she also produced on the offensive side, slamming 23 kills with a .213 attack percentage. 

UAH travels to Rome, Ga. on Friday for their first GSC match where they will take on Shorter at 5 p.m.
