HUNTSVILLE | The UAH women's soccer team is back at Charger Park on Friday evening at 5 p.m. with a nonconference matchup against Nova Southeastern.

The Chargers are 2-0-0 to start the 2023 campaign, after opening the season with a 2-1 win at Trevecca Nazarene last Thursday followed by a 3-0 home-opening win over Tusculum on Sunday. This is the first two-win start to the season for the program since 2009.

James Ballamy's squad featured a balanced attack with five different players scoring goals over the opening week of action, including
Carmen Endicott,
Jayla Gillespie,
Laura Hasani,
Maialen Mera Torres and
Hannah Szopa.

UAH was one of four teams from the Gulf South Conference to allow one goal over the opening two games, as
Ardis Haskell did not allow a goal in 106 minutes with a total of five saves.

Nova Southeastern enters the nonconference tilt with a 1-0-1 overall record, as the Sharks won 6-0 over Thomas More last Thursday before tying Saint Anselm 1-1 on Sunday. Luana Grabias guides NSU's offense with three goals, while Stefane Rosa has played the full time in goal for the Sharks with one goal allowed and seven saves.

The Chargers 0-3-0 all-time against the Sharks with the most recent matchups between the two teams coming on Sept. 2, 2018, in Greeneville, Tennessee.

After Friday's match, UAH looks ahead to the start of GSC play next Friday at 7 p.m. at Charger Park against visiting Shorter.
