HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's lacrosse team will open this weekend's home slate tomorrow at 4 p.m. with a matchup against Saint Leo before hosting Florida Southern on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Friday's contest will be the first action of 2024 for No. 24 Saint Leo. The Lions put together a 10-7 overall record last season and were led by returner Fiona McLaughlin with 61 points (53G-8A). SLU also returns its sophomore goalkeeper, Jessica Harclerode, who played in all 17 games registering a 12.40 goals against average and .449 saves percentage.

Florida Southern, the No. 2 team in the IWLCA Preseason DII Poll, starts out the week with a 1-0 overall record, following a 23-16 road victory over No. 9 Flagler on Wednesday. The Mocs were led by Jackie Stoller with nine points (7G-2A), while McKenzie Gaghan played the majority of time in goal, making five saves in the victory.
