HUNTSVILLE | The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams for the 2024 softball season were announced, and the UAH softball team was represented by five honorees including
Katie Bracken,
Alexa Douthitt,
Lawren Hayes,
Jada Henderson and
Josie Thompson.

Douthitt, Hayes and Henderson led the Chargers at the plate with each posting batting averages of .390 or higher and 100-plus total bases while playing in all 58 games this season.

Bracken and Thompson headlined the UAH pitching staff this season, as both hurlers tossed over 120.0 innings with earned run averages or 3.10 or lower.

In order to qualify for Academic All-District, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA as well as being competing in at least 90 percent of the team's games. Pitchers are eligible with 17 appearances in the circle or 25 innings pitched.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 18. The CSC Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
