HUNTSVILLE | The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams for the 2024 baseball season were announced, and the UAH baseball team was represented by
Trey Wright for his performance in the classroom and on the field.
Wright was named All-District as he appeared in 15 games, making one start on the mound for UAH. He posted a 5.88 ERA and compiled 21 strikeouts in 26 innings. The Huntsville native also held the lowest batting average against for the Chargers pitching staff among qualifying pitchers (.221).
This is Wright's second straight appearance on the Academic All-District team.
In order to qualify for Academic All-District, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA as well as competing in at least 90 percent of the team's games. Pitchers are eligible with 17 appearances on the mound or 25 innings pitched.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 18. The CSC Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
