BIRMINGHAM | The Gulf South Conference announced their baseball weekly awards, presented by Truist, for the third week of the regular season on Tuesday and UAH freshman
Sean Lapinskes was named the GSC Freshman of the Week.
He is the second Charger baseball player to earn a spot in the GSC Weekly Awards this season, as
Presley Walker earned Player of the Week last week.Â
For the week, Lapinskes posted a .364 batting average and had a 4-for-11Â showing at the plate in. He had a triple, a pair of walks, swiped one base, and drew one hit-by-pitch in a series victory over Christian Brothers. Thus far, Lapinskes has started nine games for the Chargers this year and has a .394 batting average and 13 hits, good for second on the UAH roster.Â
Lapinskes currently holds the 16th best batting average in the GSC and has the 13th most hits in the league. Additionally, he has the 15th best on-base percentage in the conference.
UAH visits Lee later in the week for their second GSC series of the season.
