LILBURN, Ga. | The UAH women's basketball team has been ranked in the WBCA Division II Top 25 Poll for the first time in program history since transitioning to NCAA Division II in 1993, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers are tied for No. 25 with Central Washington in the WBCA's final regular-season poll.
UAH had received votes in the national poll over the past several weeks, but Tuesday's announcement marks the first time the Chargers have collected enough support from the WBCA voting committee to break into the Top 25.
The ranking comes during a historic season for UAH, which currently holds a 28-5 overall record and finished the year 17-1 at home inside SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall.
This season has been filled with milestones for the Chargers. With 63 points scored in Sunday's GSC Championship game, the 2025-26 squad has now scored 2,520 total points, the most by any team in program history.
UAH now turns its attention to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament, where the Chargers will serve as a host site for the South Regional.
Joining UAH in Huntsville will be two additional teams ranked in the WBCA's final regular-season poll: No. 10 Nova Southeastern and No. 19 Miles.
The Chargers will open NCAA Tournament play Friday at 5 p.m. when they face Edward Waters in the first round. Edward Waters also received votes in the final WBCA poll but finished just outside the Top 25.
