PITTSBURGH, Pa. | One week after cutting down the nets at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall, Women's Basketball is set for another historic moment as the Chargers take the floor in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the first time in program history.
UAH enters the national quarterfinals as the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seed Cal Poly Pomona on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. CT at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

The Chargers arrive in Pittsburgh riding a three-game winning streak, having captured the South Regional championship with wins over Edward Waters (95-85), Nova Southeastern (73-70), and Eckerd (66-46). UAH carries a 31-5 overall record into the Elite Eight.
UAH has been fueled by standout individual performances throughout the NCAA Tournament. Ivey Maddox earned South Regional All-Tournament Team honors, scoring 36 points and knocking down eight three-pointers across the three games.
Lili Wilken was named the South Regional Most Outstanding Player after totaling 70 points and 19 rebounds. Wilken continues to lead the Gulf South Conference in scoring at 22.3 points per game, a mark that ranks tied for third nationally.
From beyond the arc, the Chargers have relied on consistent production from Millie Brown and Maddox, who have combined for 143 three-pointers this season. Brown leads the team with 73 made threes, while Maddox has added 70.
Cal Poly Pomona enters the matchup as the West Region champion, advancing to the Elite Eight for the 15th time in program history after defeating Central Washington.
The Broncos are led by Sydney Nelson, a First Team All-CCAA and All-West Region selection, who averages 18.6 points per game, the second-highest mark in the conference. Inside, Mydrea Moore anchors the defense with 52 blocks, ranking second in the CCAA, while Hunter Hudson leads the league with 108 offensive rebounds.
Tuesday's contest will also mark a geographic milestone for UAH. The Chargers will face a team from the state of California for the first time in program history and have not played an opponent farther west than Colorado Springs since facing UCCS in 1991.
UAH also brings an undefeated record into the state of Pennsylvania, having gone 2-0 all-time with wins over Mansfield (113-28) and Lycoming (98-59) in 1986.
