No. 23 Women's Lacrosse Ranks Eighth in D-II South Region

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 23 UAH women's lacrosse team has been ranked No. 8 in the South Region ahead of the upcoming NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship.

UAH has compiled a 9-8 overall record and a 4-1 mark in conference play this season while outscoring opponents 209-177 across 17 contests. The Chargers are averaging 12.29 goals per game and have totaled 92 assists.

Several players have helped drive UAH's success, including Olivia Rewers, who leads the team with 44 goals and 60 points, and Ella Rutherford, who has added 21 goals and 17 assists. The Chargers' defense has recorded 172 caused turnovers while holding opponents to 10.41 goals per game.

The current South Region rankings have Florida Southern (15-1) at No. 1, Flagler (17-0) at No. 2, Saint Leo (14-3) at No. 3, Tampa (11-4) at No. 4, and Embry-Riddle (12-4) at No. 5. Lynn (9-7) checks in at No. 6, Rollins (10-7) at No. 7, and the Chargers are ranked No. 8 in the region.

Additional regional rankings will be released in the coming weeks before the NCAA announces the official field for the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship following the conclusion of conference tournaments.
