BIRMINGHAM – UAH defender Ollie Rigby has earned the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week after a 1-0 week to help lift the Chargers to a 4-0 start on the season.

In a 2-1 win against West Alabama to open GSC action Rigby scored his second goal of the season to secure the victory and help UAH reach its best start to a season since 1997. Rigby's first game-winning goal came on his only shot attempt of the match.

For the season he has scored two goals on five shot attempts, three of which came on goal.

He has played the full 90 minutes in each of the Chargers' four games this season.

Amongst the GSC, Rigby ranks seventh among all players in goals per game, ninth in points per game and 10th in total points.

The Chargers continue their season and GSC slate Wednesday at home against Trevecca at 7:30 p.m. before traveling to Delta State on Saturday.
