BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | University of Alabama in Huntsville goalkeeper CeCe Szopa has been named the Gulf South Conference Goalkeeper of the Week following her performance in the Chargers' road victory over No. 15 Tampa.

Szopa recorded five saves and posted a clean sheet as UAH earned a 1-0 victory over the nationally ranked Spartans. The win marked the Chargers' first victory at Tampa since 2003.

The shutout was the 10th of Szopa's career and helped her earn GSC Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the second time in her career.

UAH continues its road trip Sept. 11 when the Chargers travel to Livingston, Alabama, to open GSC play against West Alabama. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
