HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville dropped a match to Gulf South Conference leader West Florida by a score of 3-1 (25-12, 18-25, 25-17, 25-18) on Saturday afternoon at Spragins Hall. With the loss, the UAH falls to 9-20 on the year and 4-8 in the conference, while West Florida improved its record to 21-9 overall and 12-0 in league play.
After falling in the first set 25-12, UAH bounced back in the second game, jumping out to a 13-5 lead over the Argonauts en route to a 25-18 victory. In the second set, UAH posted its best hitting percentage of the match of .333 while holding West Florida to its worst of .167.
The third set was a back and forth battle between the two squads until midway through the game when West Florida used a 9-1 run to take a 19-10 lead. The Argonauts would not relinquish the lead, winning the third with a 25-17 score and carrying the momentum to the fourth in which West Florida never trailed and won the match-clincher 25-18.

Jessica Ruple continues to standout, tallying a match-high 14 kills to go along with nine digs. In addition, fellow classmate
Kaeli McCaghren picked up a team-best 13 digs.
Autumn Duyn led the West Florida squad with a double-double of 10 kills and 12 digs, while Haley Shackelford had a match-high 17 digs for the Argonauts.
Up next, the Lady Chargers will continue GSC play on Tuesday and welcome in-state foe North Alabama. The rivalry match is slated for a 7 p.m. start at Spragins Hall.
