HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Following a perfect 3-0 weekend, the University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team will travel to Montevallo on Wednesday night for a midweek nonconference game.
The ninth-ranked Chargers (19-3) will visit in-state rival Montevallo (17-7) for a 6 p.m. start at Kermit A. Johnson Field.
UAH jumped into the top 10 in the most recent Collegiate Baseball News poll, while staying strong in a few others. They have won eight straight games and will look to stay hot against a streaking Montevallo team as well, who has won six straight.
While
Vincent Kortbawi's historic consecutive game hitting streak came to an end this past weekend, the Charger bats have been on fire consistently throughout the season. Five players are now hitting .400 or better this year, while the team is hitting .357 as a whole.
The Chargers also dropped their team ERA down to 3.18, after keeping the struggling Christian Brothers bats at bay this past weekend.
Montevallo has been led by Will Fulmer and Vinny Rodriguez, who are both hitting well over .400. Rodriguez has crushed four home runs, while Fulmer has scored 32 runs to lead the team this year.
UAH holds the all-time series over the Falcons at 28-22.
