Lady Chargers Push Past Union 3-1 on Tuesday

Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team rallied back from an early deficit to knock off visiting Union by a 3-1 score on Tuesday night at Spragins Hall, picking up the team's first GSC win of the season in the process. The Lady Chargers improve to 4-7 (1-2 GSC) with the victory, while Union drops to 4-8 (0-2 GSC) with the setback.

The visitors took the first lead of the match, going up 1-0 on the Lady Chargers after hitting at a strong .438 clip en route to a 25-17 set victory in the opening frame, but the hosts would respond by forcing the Lady Bulldogs to commit six errors and swing at a percentage of .140 in the second set. UAH would capture the set by a 25-21 score to level the match at 1-1.

Baker had two aces during the run, while Bauman registered three of the 13 kills she would record on the night as she finished the contest with a strong attack percentage of .407.

UAH would proceed to win 25-20 to grab a 2-1 lead, and a 25-23 triumph in the fourth frame produced the 3-1 victory.

Joining Bauman in double figures in kills on the night was Haley Snyder who paced the team with 17 successful attacks, and she notched her third consecutive double-double as she also scooped out 12 balls on the night defensively.

Four other Lady Chargers also notched double digits in digs as Stacey Sargent notched a team-high 16 on the night, and Kennedie Lariscy was right behind her with 15 scoops. Adding 11 was Ashton Baker, and Gabby Wilson recorded 10 digs.

Baker also notched a double-double as she setup 40 kills on the night.

Deja Moorer paced Union with 12 kills, and Elise Seufert collected a team-best 28 digs.

The Lady Chargers will aim to build upon Tuesday's victory when rival North Alabama visits Spragins Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 1. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
