HOOVER, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's cross country team finished in fourth on Saturday morning at the Gulf South Conference Championships at Veteran's Park.
Sophomore
Kailey Williams continued her successful 2014 campaign with a third overall finish at the GSC Championships at a time of 18:58.26. Williams improved on her 2013 GSC Championship time of 19:52.05, which earned her 18th place last season.
Senior
Michelle Kruse was close behind Williams, placing fourth at 19:04.59 on Saturday. Kruse has finished in the top 10 at the GSC Championships in each of her four years with the Chargers.
Junior
Chloe Whitworth finished in the top 25 on Saturday amongst GSC Championship eligible runners at 24th with a time of 19:04.59. Also placing for the Chargers at the GSC Championships were
Heather Powell (43rd, 21:02.19),
Alison Jay (46th, 21:10.26),
Kelsey Crawford (48th, 21:29.38) and
Vanessa Cardwell (56th, 22:23.20).
Union (63) came away as the GSC Champion for the 2014 season, followed by West Florida (92) and West Alabama (101) in the top three on Saturday. UAH (120) and Valdosta State (122) rounded out the top five.
