About the Chargers
The Chargers' three home runs on Wednesday against Trevecca Nazarene was a season-high while the 19 home runs overall lead the GSC. Nine different players have gone yard this year with
Blake Massey leading the team with seven homers.
Chase Handley has been hot from the plate with a .778 (7-9) average with four RBI while registering a season-high four hits and four RBI in Wednesday's 16-9 victory over Trevecca.
While the Charger offense has been doing its part, the pitching staff has done an excellent job of limiting opportunities for the opposing offense. UAH is fourth in the GSC with an ERA of 2.79 while holding offenses to the fourth lowest batting average at .252.
This will be the second-straight weekend where there will be major postseason implications on the line. UAH took two out of three from 2nd-ranked West Florida last weekend and will look to do the same on the road against 18th-ranked Delta State. Regional and conference positioning are in full swing.
About Delta State
No. 18 Delta State is currently 13-6 this season while riding a three-game win streak heading into this weekend's three-game series. The Statesmen are 5-2 at home this season and have yet to score less than five runs in any of their wins.
Carlos Leal leads DSU with an impressive batting average of .381 to go along with a team-best 18 RBI while Michael Manley is leading the pitching staff with a 0.95 ERA, which is the second lowest in the conference.
Series History
DSU holds a 17-33 advantage in the all-time series with UAH, while two of three games last season were cancelled with the only contest resulting in a tie.
