About the Chargers

Despite only starting in just six games this season, catcher Chris Brown has made his presence felt when he is in the lineup as the freshman is batting .478 and is 5-for-11 (.454) while starting in the last three games. So far this season, Brown has tallied 11 hits, seven RBI and two doubles.
 
 The GSC has been very competitive at the top this season with five teams ranked in the top-25 and the No. 25 Chargers sit in second behind No. 2 West Florida while No.22 Delta State and West Alabama round out the top-4.
 
Through the first 18 games of the season, the top four batters in the lineup have done a good job of getting on base and bringing runs in with a combined .302 batting average (72-238) and 40 RBI, which account for 39.6 percent of the team's RBI.

About Shorter University

Teammates Zach Santos and Bryan Mathews both lead the team with a .305 batting average while Mathews has recorded a team-best 10 RBI and Santos is leading the team in doubles (7), home runs (2) and triples (1).
 
Junior Colton Cross leads a Shorter pitching staff that has a ERA of 5.13 ERA and is 2-1 on the season with an ERA of 3.00 while striking out 26 batters and walking 13. Cross' best outing this season came against Young Harris when he pitched for seven innings while allowing just one run and fanned eight batters.

Series History

Shorter holds a slight 2-1 advantage over the Chargers while all three games came within four runs and the Chargers are 11-5 in the past three seasons against teams from the state of Georgia.
