Box Score ROME, Ga. | Blake Massey's three RBIs and a five-run ninth inning pushed the No. 25 UAH baseball team to a 9-4 win and a weekend sweep at Shorter Sunday afternoon. UAH improves to 15-6 on the year and 7-2 in conference play and Shorter falls to 5-14 and 4-7 in GSC competition.

Jacob Croft got his second win of the year on the mound after pitching 3.1 innings and allowing just one run and two hits while starting pitcher Tyler Howell was credited with the no decision after putting in 2.2 innings of work and giving up two runs on four hits.

Offensively, the Chargers saw five different players register a multi-hit game while Massey led UAH with a double and his team-leading sixth home run of the season. The senior finished 4-for-8 with two home runs, six RBIs and a double since going 0-for-5 in the first game yesterday.

Shorter would go up 2-0 in the bottom of the third before the Chargers answered with two runs of their own in the fourth thanks to Massey's two-run bomb, and UAH would take the lead for good after scoring a run in the fifth after a Shorter error and Ben Hall's second homer of the season gave UAH a 4-2 lead.

The Chargers stretched their lead to six after blowing the game open with a five-run ninth inning while UAH tallied three extra-base hits and five players notched an RBI to give the Chargers a sweep.

The ranked Chargers return to the diamond when UAH travels to Fairfield, Ala., for a 1 p.m. affair against Miles on Tuesday before the No. 2 West Florida Argonauts invade Huntsville next weekend for an important three-game GSC series.
