About the Chargers

  • The Chargers will be playing their seventh mid-week affair of the season at Trevecca Nazarene while posting a 4-2 record in those games. UAH has also done a good job bouncing back after suffering a setback, boasting a mark of 7-3 in games coming off a loss.
  • When facing nonconference opponents this season, the Chargers are 11-5 while averaging 8.6 runs in 16 contests. Cody Burton is hitting .452 against teams outside of the GSC and overall has recorded a hit in eight out of the past 10 games, including a 3-for-3 outing against North Alabama on Sunday to go along with three RBI.

  • Trevecca Nazarene improved its record 22-8 over the weekend with a four-game sweep over Salem International. The Trojans are 6-3 since their 16-9 defeat to the Chargers earlier this month.
  • Nick Howell leads the team with a .449 batting average while also leading the team in hits (53), doubles (12) and triples (9). The trio of Mike Purcell, Bryan Smith and Alex Shoulders lead the Trojan pitching staff with a combined record of 14-4 and four complete games between the three starters.

Series History

The Chargers improved to 4-0 with the high-scoring 16-9 victory over the Trojans earlier this season as UAH hit a season-high three homers.
