UAH Cruises on Third Day of GSC Tourney, Blasts CBU

Box Score BIRMINGHAM | The bats were out on display Sunday morning as the No. 2 seed UAH baseball team cruised to a 16-0 win over Christian Brothers, eliminating the Bucs and moving on to the fourth day of the 2014 GSC Championships. UAH will play Delta State tomorrow at 10 a.m. if they lose today or at 1 p.m. if they win at Young Memorial Field.

Alex Aultman picked up the win on the mound, improving to 8-4 this season while giving up just two hits and zero runs in four-innings of work on 53 pitches. Aultman is also 2-0 this season against CBU while allowing six hits in 11 innings and zero runs.

Ricky Ray Clayton and Charlie Weaver tossed the final three innings of relief to finish out the day, keeping up the strong momentum on the mound as each allowed zero runs and zero hits.

The 16 runs scored is the second highest run output in the GSC Tournament (20 against Delta State in 2010) and it's the fifth time this season the Chargers have scored 15 or more runs.

Every player in the starting lineup recorded a hit and scored a run in the contest, including six players that registered extra-base hits.

Blake Massey paced the offense with a season-high five RBI, and easily extended his hitting streak to 13 games with three hits while Chandler Brock and Ben Hall each plated three runners.
