MIDWEEK ACTION: UAH defeated Tuskegee and Trevecca Nazarene in the midweek matchups by scores of 8-1 and 15-7, respectively. The Chargers batted .436 over the two-game stretch, with 11 multi-hit performances in total.
LAST WEEKEND: The Chargers travelled to Pensacola, Florida last weekend for a conference matchup against then-ranked No. 30 West Florida, where UAH won the opening doubleheader by scores of 2-0 before dropping the finale 4-2.

POLLING PLACE: UAH is now amongst the top eight in all national polls, with Perfect Game ranking the squad highest at No. 4. The Chargers slipped to No. 6 in the NCBWA poll, followed by a No. 7 rating by D2BaseballNews.com and a No. 8 ranking from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
REGIONAL UPDATE: The Blue and White remain in the second slot for the NCBWA South Region poll for the third week in a row, trailing behind No. 1 Tampa. UAH received three first-place votes in the poll, the most this season. Following UAH in the poll is Nova Southeastern (19-4), Florida Tech (20-3) and Saint Leo (21-5).

GSC STANDINGS: UAH is atop the league standings with a 10-2-1 mark in GSC games so far this season. The Chargers are followed by No. 28 West Georgia (11-4), No. 30 West Alabama (9-5), North Alabama (7-4) and West Florida (9-6).

SOUTHPAW IMPRESSING: Senior
Daniel Koger – who spent the previous three seasons at Auburn – has had a successful start to the 2015 campaign, as the lefty most recently held UWF to four hits in 7.1 scoreless frames with four strikeouts. Koger has lasted at least six innings in his six outings this season and sports a perfect 6-0 record on the bump. The Huntsville native ranks seventh in the GSC in ERA (2.06) and fifth in strikeouts (35).

SWEET SWINGING: The Chargers are third in the conference with a .311 batting average and are second in the GSC at a .482 slugging percentage. Senior
Cody Burton leads the way with a .431 batting average, which ranks second in the GSC, followed by
Ryan Barnes (.339, 12 RBI) and
Chandler Brock (.338, 16 RBI).

ROTATION: Head coach
Hunter Royer is slated to head into the weekend with Koger,
Mitchell Wright and
Tyler Howell as the rotation for the Delta State series. Wright – who earned GSC Pitcher of the Week last week - has had a solid season to date leading UAH with a 0.43 ERA, having not allowed a run in his past 20.0 innings. Howell recently took the loss at West Florida, after 4.1 innings with one earned run allowed, zero walks and two strikeouts.

MATCHUP HISTORY: UAH has an all-time series record of 21-39 against Delta State, with DSU topping the Chargers in the 2014 regular season series in three consecutive games. However, the last two matchups between the programs was in the Gulf South Conference Tournament, where UAH defeated the Statesmen twice by scores of 9-6 and 8-3.

STATESMEN PROFILE: Delta State enters the weekend with a 5-8 record and 4-4 within the GSC, with its most recent action against Union ending in a series sweep for DSU. The Statesmen are batting a collective .296 so far, led by Brandon Cummins who has a .385 batting average with 16 runs scored. Drew Milligan (3.62 ERA, 27.1 IP) leads the DSU pitching staff that has combined for a 5.40 ERA.
