Box Score ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville volleyball team fell to Shorter on Saturday afternoon in a Gulf South Conference matchup by a score of 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 17-25, 20-25). UAH dips to 7-2 (2-1 GSC), while Shorter improves to 9-0 (4-0 GSC).

- The Chargers had three attackers eclipse the double-digit kill and dig mark, led by
Anna LeDuc with 12 successful swats and 17 scoops.
- LeDuc was joined by
Lorah Yonce (11 kills, 10 digs) and
Anna Claire Johnson (10 kills, 11 digs) with double-digit kills and digs.

Haley Hop paced the team defensively for the second straight game with 25 digs, leading a total of five players with 10 digs or more.

Turning Point
- In the opening set, Shorter utilized an early six-point run for an 8-4 lead, and would later add two, four-point rallies en route to the 25-19 win.
- After trailing 16-9 early into the second set, the Chargers proceeded to score eight of the next nine points to knot the contest at 17-17. UAH was able to move ahead down the stretch as they totaled six of the final eight points of the stanza for the 25-22 win.
- A well-fought third set had the Chargers within two at 17-15 later in the frame, but Shorter followed with a 6-0 rally on the way to a 25-17 victory.
- A back-and-forth affair for the majority of the fourth set turned in favor of the hosts as Shorter would record eight of the final 10 points for a 25-20 win and a 3-1 match victory.

Noteworthy
- Hop's 25 digs were a season-best for the Madison, Alabama, native, as her previous best of 23 set last night at Lee. Hop now has three performances of 20 digs or more in 2016.
- The Chargers 81 digs in the contest were a season-high for the squad, and the highest amount of scoops since the squad totaled 88 at West Alabama last season on Oct. 6.
- UAH returns home next week for a pair of matches with Christian Brothers visiting the Rocket City on Friday at 7 p.m., before Union comes to Huntsville on Saturday at 2 p.m.
