WEEKEND AHEAD: UAH opens its home slate this weekend with visiting Spring Hill on Saturday and Sunday for a three-game, nonconference series. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is slated for noon while Sunday's game will commence at 1 p.m.

HOME SWEET HUNTSVILLE: Under the direction of head coach Hunter Royer, the Chargers have notched at least 20 wins at home in each of the past four seasons with a record of 83-20-1 at Charger Park in that span. Coach Royer is now in his eighth season at the helm of the program, achieving a career record of 230-128-2 and five consecutive 30-plus win seasons dating back to 2012.

RECENT ACTION: UAH was tripped up in all four nonconference tilts in the Sunshine State this past weekend, falling to Lynn on Friday, No. 1 Nova Southeastern in a doubleheader on Saturday and Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday. The Chargers have a total of 11 nonconference matchups remaining on the 2017 slate including this weekend's three-game series against SHC.

HOT FROM THE START: Ben Rhodes enjoyed a successful opening weekend as the junior posted a .429 batting average (6-for-14) in four games with three runs scored, one double, one triple, two RBI and two walks. Rhodes enters the week riding a four-game hit streak and has posted two hits in a game on two occasions thus far.

BULLPEN DEPTH: Gabe Gunter highlighted the Chargers relief corps this past weekend in the Sunshine State, with the right-hander hurling 5.0 shutout innings of relief with one hit allowed against Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday. UAH also benefitted from scoreless outings by sophomore Taylor Clemons and junior Heath McRae.

UP NEXT: The Chargers look ahead to the start of Gulf South Conference play next weekend as the squad travels to Cleveland, Tennessee, for a three-game set against Lee.

BADGERS PROFILE: Spring Hill enters the week with a 1-3 overall record after most recently falling to No. 3 West Florida on Wednesday by a score of 13-8. Brandon Harigel has led the Badgers offense through four games with a .412 batting average in addition to five runs, three doubles and four RBI, while the pitching staff is paced by Sean Bretz who worked 5.0 shutout innings against Auburn Montgomery last weekend.

SERIES HISTORY: UAH holds an all-time series record of 1-1 against Spring Hill, with the two programs meeting up for a doubleheader – which was split – at SHC last season on Feb. 17. This will be the Badgers first-ever visit to Charger Park.
