RECENT ACTION: The Chargers are coming off their first Gulf South Conference series victory of the 2017 campaign with a pair of victories in the doubleheader by scores of 8-5 and 2-1 to open the series before dropping the finale 11-4. UAH now sits at 7-8 overall and 3-3 within the league.
 
NEWCOMER IMPRESSES: Brady Bedingfield had a series of successful performances this past week as he recorded a total of seven hits, eight RBI, four runs scored, a double and a homer in five starts against Miles and West Georgia. Bedingfield notched one, four-hit performance at the plate, which are the most hits in a game by a Charger this season.
 
SOUTHPAW DEALS: Will Myers enjoyed his strongest outing on the mound so far in his senior season, as he tossed the full 7.0 innings in game two of the UWG series with one run allowed and a season-high 10 strikeouts. Entering the weekend at Christian Brothers, Myers ranks second in the weekend rotation with a 3.66 ERTA over 19.2 innings pitched to go along with a team-high 26 strikeouts.
 
CONSISTENCY AT THE PLATE: Ben Rhodes has maintained his successful start to the 2017 campaign with a team-high .375 batting average in 14 games played in addition to a team-high 11 RBI so far this year. Rhodes is one two regulars in the lineup to be batting over .300 this season.
 
START OF A LONG ROAD: This weekend's series against CBU begins a seven-game road swing for the Chargers as the squad will make stops at Montevallo next Wednesday before heading to Pensacola, Florida for a three-game GSC against West Florida on March 11-12. The Chargers return home on March 18-19 with a visit from Delta State.
 
BUCS PROFILE: Christian Brothers begins the week with a 4-11 overall record and a 1-5 record within the Gulf South Conference after most recently being swept in a three-game series at Union this past weekend. The Bucs offense has been led by King Taylor with a .300 average, three homers and 13 RBI, while the CBU pitching staff boasts a 6.09 ERA.
 
SERIES HISTORY: UAH holds a perfect 16-0 all-time series record over Christian Brothers following a series sweep for the Chargers at home against the Bucs on March 5-6 last season.
