UPCOMING WEEK: UAH (14-13, 8-7 GSC) has five games on the schedule this week beginning on Wednesday with a nonconference doubleheader at 2 p.m. at LeMoyne-Owen (1-11, 0-5 SIAC) before heading to Shorter (13-16, 5-10) for a three-game Gulf South Conference series on Friday and Saturday.
 
RECENT ACTION: The Chargers dropped all three games in the GSC three-game series at West Florida over the weekend by scores of 7-2, 3-2 and 9-6. UAH is now 14-13 overall and 8-7 in the GSC, good for a tie for seventh in the league standings.
 
FINDING A GROOVE: Senior Jay Copeland raised his season average to .300 at the plate, after going 7-for-11 in the UWF series with two runs scored, three doubles and two RBI. This season, Copeland has scored 10 runs with four doubles and six RBI in 21 total appearances as the squad's primary second baseman.
 
SOUTHPAW SUCCESS: Hunter Hood – a transfer to the UAH baseball program this season – has turned in back-to-back quality starts with a 6.0-inning performance with one earned run allowed and four strikeouts at West Florida. Over his last two starts, Hood has worked 13.0 innings with one earned run allowed and 11 strikeouts to dip his season ERA to a rotation-leading 3.78.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: This week's contests wrap up a 10-game road swing for the Chargers, as the Blue & White return home on April 3 against Tuskegee which starts a nine-game homestand at Charger Park.
 
MAGICIANS PROFILE: LeMoyne Owen is 1-11 overall and 0-5 in the SIAC after most recently dropping both games of a doubleheader to Spring Hill in Memphis on Saturday.
 
SERIES HISTORY: UAH is 2-0 all-time against LeMoyne-Owen.
 
HAWKS PROFILE: Shorter enters the week with a 13-16 overall record and a 5-10 mark within the GSC, following a series win at No. 2 Delta State this past weekend. The Hawks offense is buoyed by Samyr Santos with a .333 batting average, seven doubles, 10 homers and 27 RBI, while the SU pitching staff boasts a team ERA of 4.81.
 
SERIES HISTORY: The Chargers own an all-time series record of 12-3 against the Hawks.
