BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Gulf South Conference released its weekly baseball award winners, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team was represented by
Dylan Murphy as GSC Pitcher of the Week.

This is Murphy's first career weekly honor from the GSC.

A native of Madison, Alabama, Murphy hurled his first career complete-game shutout to secure a doubleheader sweep on Friday in game two against Union, as the right-hander tossed 7.0 scoreless innings with just two hits allowed and six strikeouts. Over the course of the game, the sophomore limited the Bulldogs to a .087 batting average with zero extra-base hits while facing the minimum in three of his seven innings of work.

This season, Murphy boasts a 3.83 ERA over 42.1 innings that includes a total of 14 appearances on the mound and six starts. The right-hander is second on the roster with 41 strikeouts with a rotation-low .212 batting average against.

UAH starts off the week on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Auburn Montgomery, before returning home for the final time in the 2019 regular season this Friday and Saturday with a visit from nationally-ranked West Florida.
