No. 12 UAH Pushes Win Streak to 10 with 9-7 Win over Carson-Newman

HUNTSVILLE | The No. 12 University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team notched its 10th straight victory with a 9-7 nonconference win over Carson-Newman on Wednesday afternoon at Charger Park. UAH improves to 16-5, while CN dips to 15-10.
 
Game-Changer
- After Carson-Newman cut the UAH lead to 8-7 in the top of the seventh, Caleb Brewer took the mound out of the bullpen and hurled 3.0 shutout innings to close out the 9-7 win for the Chargers on Wednesday.
 
Inside the Box Score
- Zach Duvall led the Chargers at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance on the day with a home run, three runs scored, two RBI and one walk.
- Colin Brewer went 2-for-5 in the contest with two RBI to rank tied for second on the roster with Duvall.
- John Trousdale registered a team-high three RBI while going 1-for-4.
- Landon Ezzell and Wes Anderson each had two base hits in the win, with Anderson scoring two runs to rate second on the offense.

- Carson-Newman took the first lead of the game with one run in the top of the second, but UAH turned the tables with three runs in the bottom half of the frame – highlighted by Duvall's two-run homer to left – to take a 3-1 lead.
- The Eagles evented the game with two runs in the top of the fourth.
- The Chargers regained the lead at 5-3 on a two-RBI single to right by Trousdale followed by an RBI infield single by Colin Brewer that made it a three-run lead.
- CN slimmed UAH's lead to 6-4 with one run in the sixth, before Brewer and Landon Ezzell singled in runs to extend the advantage to 8-4.
- The Eagles cut the Chargers lead again in the seventh to 8-7 with three runs in the seventh.
- Trousdale gave UAH an insurance run on an RBI groundout in the bottom half of the seventh as the Chargers went on to win 9-7 on Wednesday.
 
Noteworthy
- Duvall hit his fourth home run of the season, and is now tied for the team lead with Trousdale.
- UAH's last 10-game win streak was in the 2014 season, when the squad won 14 straight from April 5 to May 2.

- UAH hits the road to Auburn Montgomery on Saturday and Sunday to return to GSC play.
