VALDOSTA, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville men's basketball team will play for a trip to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight on Tuesday night, battling Flager in the championship game of the South Regional. Tip-off at The Complex in Valdsota is slated for 6 p.m. CT.

This will mark UAH's sixth trip to the regional final in program history.

The Chargers (15-3) reached the title game after defeating Lee by a 73-66 score on Sunday night as the team took the lead just 1:09 into the contest and did not trail again the rest of the way. GSC West Division Player of the Year
Sam Orf led the Chargers in the victory, scoring 22 on an 8-for-13 night from the field.Â

Orf is averaging 18.6 points per game on the season and is shooting 50.8 percent.

Another strong performer in Sunday night's game was
JJ Kaplan who scored 12 and had 11 rebounds, moving his average on the glass to 7.5 per game which ranks the First Team West Division All-GSC selection third in the GSC. UAH's other all-GSC choice
Seth Swalve also had a terrific game against the Flames, going 4-for-7 with three 3-pointers on his way to chipping in with 17, giving him a scoring average of 12.7 points per game on the season.

The Saints (16-2) – who are in their first-ever NCAA tournament – made it to Tuesday night's title game after knocking off West Georgia 69-53 on Sunday.

The victory marked the 14th straight for the Peach Belt champions, and Flagler was led by Chris Metzger's 23 points and Jaizec Lottie's 18 points and 11 rebounds. Lottie is scoring 24.1 per game, while Metzger is shooting 72.3 percent on the year and averaging 12.5 points per contest.

As a team, the Saints are shooting 48.4 percent while holding their opponents to a sub-40 mark of 39.6 percent.

This will be just the third all-time meeting between the two programs and the first since 2009, and UAH has taken both of the previous contests.Â

The winner on Tuesday will advance as the regional champions to Evansville, Indiana, where the next round of the NCAA tournament will be held starting on March 24.

The Chargers are attempting to reach the program's third Elite Eight, as UAH also won the region in 2011 and 2012. In total, UAH is 2-3 in the regional championship game with the setbacks coming in 2013, 2016, and 2017.Â
