Box Score OXFORD, Ala. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team's run at 2021 Gulf South Conference Baseball Championships came to an end on Tuesday afternoon at Choccolocco Park with a 4-3 loss in the semifinals against Delta State. UAH slips to 22-18, while DSU improves to 27-16.

UAH now awaits its fate for the NCAA tournament, as the Chargers are one of eight teams under consideration for the six-team South Regional on the campus of West Florida from May 27-30.

Kody Keiser started on the mound for the Chargers, as he worked 2.0 innings with three runs allowed.

Parker Warren was stellar in long relief for UAH, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings with two hits allowed. In the GSC tournament.

The UAH offense was led by
John Trousdale and
Griffin Rivers with two base hits and one double apiece, as the Chargers collected a total of eight hits in the contest.

After a scoreless first inning by both sides, Delta State pulled ahead in the bottom of the second with three runs for a 3-0 lead.

UAH went on the board in the top of the sixth as
Garrett Bodine scored on a ground out and would score again in the seventh on an RBI single to right by
Brett Barbee to slim the DSU lead to 3-2.

The Chargers tied the contest in the eighth on an RBI double by Rivers, before the Statesmen went on to win 4-3 on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.
Tyler Self took the loss in relief to drop his season record to 4-8.

This was UAH's 20th all-time GSC postseason meeting with Delta State, with the program making its 19th GSC tournament appearance.
