HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team returns to Charger Park for a nonconference tilt on Wednesday at 2 p.m. against Trevecca Nazarene before starting the 2022 Gulf South Conference slate at Valdosta State this weekend.

The Chargers picked up three wins in four games over the weekend at the Peachtree City Classic in the Georgia, as the squad enters the TNU contest with a 3-4 record. After falling in the first game in Peachtree City, UAH won the next three in a row over Cedarville, Clark Atlanta and Morehouse.

Daniel McCary is the Chargers offensive leader through seven games in the 2022 campaign with a team-leading .517 batting average to go along with three doubles, two homers, 12 RBI and three walks.

Jackson Lindsey was a strong contributor for the Blue & White at Peachtree City, where he went 6-for-15 with two home runs and eight RBI. One of Lindsey's two homers was a go-ahead grand slam in the seventh inning of the win over Cedarville.

Hunter Royer has seen a lot of work throughout his pitching staff as a total of 15 pitchers have worked at least one inning so far in 2022.
Connor Brooks currently leads the Chargers pitching staff with a 1.80 ERA over 10.0 innings, as the squad has a 4.89 ERA overall.

Trevecca Nazarene enters Wednesday's contest with a 2-1 overall record and ranked No. 6 nationally in the preseason by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, after the Trojans won the 2021 NCAA Midwest Region Championship.

Through three games, TNU has scored 38 runs and has a .369 team batting average with a total of six players with five hits or more in 2022 thus far. The Trojans are led by second-year head coach Chase Spain.

After the midweek contest at Charger Park, UAH hits the road to Valdosta State to start GSC play in 2022. Saturday's doubleheader is set to start at 12 p.m. CT, with the finale on Sunday also slated for a 12 p.m. CT first pitch.
