HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team hosts Tennessee Southern in nonconference action Wednesday at Charger Park at 4 p.m.
 
After UAH's midweek contest, the Chargers look ahead to a three-game Gulf South Conference series at Lee this Friday and Saturday.

UAH enters the matchup with visiting Tennessee Southern with a 9-17 overall record that includes a 3-8 mark in GSC play, after winning one of three at Auburn Montgomery this past weekend.
 
The Chargers offense has been the highlight so far of the 2022 campaign, as the squad boasts the fourth-highest slugging percentage in the conference at a .445 clip.
 
Junior Landon Ezzell has been the leading slugger on the offense with a team-high eight doubles and seven home runs, with Daniel McCary not far behind with seven doubles and six home runs.
 
Overall, UAH is second in the conference with 55 doubles and fifth with 24 home runs.
 
Tennessee Southern starts out the week with a 7-16 overall record after three losses at home to Thomas More over the weekend.
 
Lance Pope leads the Firehawks offense with eight homers and 23 RBI, while the UTS pitching staff has a 7.63 team ERA.
 
UAH has a 17-5 record in the all-time series against Tennessee Southern, with the Chargers winning the most recent matchup last Wednesday by a score of 12-7.
