HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team steps out of Gulf South Conference play this week at Charger Park with four nonconference games, beginning on Wednesday at 1 p.m. against Miles.

The Chargers slate this week continues with a three-game series against Florida Southern with single games on Friday at 2 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m.

UAH enters the contest against Miles with a 6-12 overall record and a 2-6 mark in conference play, after dropping three games to Delta State over the weekend at Charger Park.

Jackson Lindsey is enjoying a strong start to his collegiate career, as he enters the week with a team-leading .354 batting average to go along with 11 runs, three doubles, two homers and 11 RBI. His .354 batting average ranks among the top 25 in the GSC so far.

On the mound, a total of 16 Chargers have registered at least 2.0 innings pitched in the 2022 campaign, led by
Kody Keiser with a team-high 26.1 innings pitched.
Connor Brooks leads the UAH weekend rotation with a 4.07 ERA over 24.1 innings pitched in addition to a team-high 23 strikeouts.

Wednesday will mark the second time the Chargers have hosted the Golden Bears this season, with UAH topping Miles 12-6 on Feb. 22 to push the Blue & White's all-time series lead to 25-2.

UAH's series this weekend against Florida Southern is the first time these two programs will meet since the 2014 NCAA South Regional in Tampa, Florida, as FSC won the matchup 7-2. Overall, the Chargers are 1-2 against the Mocs in an all-time series that started in the 2000 season.

Florida Southern starts out the week with a 10-9 overall record and a 4-2 record in the Sunshine State Conference, following three losses to Augustana over the weekend. The Moccasins are led by head coach Lance Niekro.

The Moccasins offense is led by Jeff Liquori with a team-high seven homers and 19 RBI in addition to Duncan Hunter with a roster-best .392 batting average and five home runs. FSC's pitching staff features a 4.50 team ERA.
