Box Score 2 ROME, Ga. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team dropped both games in a doubleheader at Shorter on Saturday by scores of 9-4 and 9-7 to wrap up a three-game Gulf South Conference series. UAH slips to 22-23 (13-13 GSC), while SU improves to 23-17 (14-12 GSC).

UAH looks ahead to wrapping up its regular season road schedule with a 6 p.m. matchup at Trevecca Nazarene on Tuesday.

SU 9, UAH 4
Shorter overtook UAH's one-run lead in the bottom of the fifth with a six-run rally as the Hawks would go on to win 9-4 in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader.

The Chargers went on the board first in the GSC matchup on an RBI triple to right by
Garrett Bodine. Bodine's triple was his first of the season and seventh of his career.

The hosts went ahead with two runs in the second in addition to one run in the fourth to lead 3-1, prior to a three-run rally by the Chargers in the fifth which regained the lead for UAH at 4-3.

Shorter erupted for a six-run fifth, which would wrap up the days scoring as the Hawks went on to win 9-4.

Connor Brooks started on the mound, turning in 4.0 innings with five runs allowed and five strikeouts. His record slips to 5-4 this season with the loss.

Wells Deloney had a strong outing out of the bullpen overall, as he tossed 4.0 innings with two runs allowed, zero walks and five strikeouts.

Bodine boasted a team-high three base hits and two RBI, while
Colin Brewer,
Will Noles and
Carson Villalta each had two hits in the loss. Noles and Villalta both also had a double amongst their two hits.

SU 9, UAH 7
The Hawks came from behind with one run in the fifth and two runs in the sixth to take the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday by a 9-7 final score.

The Chargers recorded 11 base hits overall, led by
Garrett Bodine,
Brennan Vasquez and
Jackson Lindsey with two apiece in the contest. Both of Vasquez's hits went for extra bases, including a double and a two-run home run.

Vasquez additionally drove in a team-best three runs, followed by Bodine and
Landon Ezzell with two RBI each. Bodine also scored a team-high two runs.

Kody Keiser started on the mound for the Chargers, and the southpaw turned in 2.2 innings with four runs allowed for the no-decision.

Justin Perreault took the loss in relief after tossing 2.2 innings with three runs allowed and a team-high four strikeouts out of the bullpen. Perrault slips to 0-2 with the loss.
