HUNTSVILLE | The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association announced their 2022 All-South Region teams, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville was represented by Garrett Bodine as a First Team All-South Region honoree and Landon Ezzell as a Second Team All-South Region performer.
 
Bodine was named to the First Team by both the NCBWA and D2CCA, while Ezzell was a Second Team honoree by the D2CCA and an honorable mention by the NCBWA.
 
A native of Harvest, Alabama, Bodine also was a First Team All-GSC honoree in the 2022 campaign as he rates in the top 15 in the GSC in batting average (4th, .385), runs (1st, 58), hits (1st, 80), doubles (T8th, 13), home runs (T14th, 13), RBI (12th, 47), total bases (3rd, 122), and OBP (2nd, .480).
 
He finished the season on a 33-game hit streak, which is five games away from the program and GSC record of 38 games set by Vincent Kortbawi between the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
 
Ezzell – a native of Russellville, Alabama – was the Chargers leading slugger with 15 home runs this season to go along with 12 doubles, 48 runs, 51 RBI and 20 walks. He additionally saw action at three different positions in 2022, including 25 games at third, 18 in the outfield and seven at first base.
 
His 15 home runs are now the seventh-most in program history in a single season.
 
UAH finished the season with the program's 20th GSC tournament appearance, as the Chargers went 28-25 overall and 16-13 in league play.
