MIAMI SHORES, Fla. | The UAH men's basketball team starts the 2023-24 campaign on the road at the South Region Crossover hosted by Barry University this weekend with matchups against BU on Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT and No. 2 Nova Southeastern on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. CT.

The Chargers are coming off a 27-8 overall record in the 2022-23 campaign that included a Gulf South Conference Regular Season Championship with a 19-5 league record, as UAH went to the NCAA South Regional final for the seventh time since 2011.

UAH's game on Saturday will be a rematch of the 2023 NCAA South Region Championship game against Nova Southeastern, who went on to win the NCAA Division II Championships.

Luke Burnett who ranked third in the nation last season with 108 three-pointers made. Six of UAH's top eight in minutes played last season return for the new campaign, led by Burnett (1021 minutes) and
Jack Kostel (981 minutes).

Barry is coming off a 12-14 overall record last season that included an 8-12 mark in Sunshine State Conference action. The Buccaneers leading returner is Malik Stanley at 14.6 points per game last season, as BU averaged 80.7 points per game as a team in 2022-23.

Nova Southeastern enters the 2023-24 campaign as the No. 2 team in the nation after winning the 2023 NCAA Division II Championship and going undefeated at a 36-0 overall record. The Sharks averaged 102.5 points per game last season under head coach Jim Crutchfield.

After this weekend's start on the road, UAH opens its home slate at Kelly Court at Spragins Hall with the Bill Penney Classic next Friday and Saturday with matchups against No. 6 Lincoln Memorial and Fisk.
