HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team is set to begin Gulf South Conference play this weekend at Charger Park against visiting Lee with a doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m. followed by a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Admission for this weekend – and to all regular season events at Charger Park – is free again this season courtesy of Alabama Credit Union.

The series was originally slated to start with a single Friday and a doubleheader Saturday, before inclement weather forced the change.

UAH enters the three-game series with a 5-3 overall record, after most recently topping Miles 6-5 on the road on Wednesday.

Landon Ezzell continues to be on a tear to start the season, as he owns a team-high .514 batting average, .622 slugging percentage, 12 runs, 10 RBI and 23 total bases. He has recorded a hit in each game so far, including multi-hit performances four times.

Garrett Bodine recently broke the GSC record for consecutive games with a hit, as he's now up to 41 straight games after going 2-for-5 at Miles. Overall this season, Bodine is hitting .353 with 10 runs, three doubles and one triple.

Andre Orselli has led the Chargers weekend pitching staff thus far in 2023, as he boasts a 3.00 ERA over 9.0 innings with four strikeouts.
Will Hotalen guides the UAH bullpen with a team-high 9.2 innings pitched and 10 strikeouts compared to just two walks.

Lee enters the three-game set at Charger Park with a 3-5 overall record, following a 9-5 loss at home to young Harris on Tuesday. The Flames offense has been led by Brandon Daniels this season with a .452 batting average, three doubles and one home run, while LU's pitching staff has a 5.53 team ERA.

UAH holds an all-times series record of 11-8-1 against Lee.
