UAH Hosts Auburn Montgomery in Pivotal Weekend Series

HUNTSVILLE | The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team welcomes in a Gulf South Conference opponent for their final regular season series when Auburn Montgomery pays a visit to Charger Park. 

The Chargers enter the three-game series on Friday and Saturday with a 27-17 record overall and a 18-9 GSC record while the Warhawks come in at 18-29 (10-17 GSC).

Saturday marks Senior Day for UAH as 10 seniors will be honored. Admission for this week's games – and to all regular season events at Charger Park – is free again this season courtesy of Alabama Credit Union. 

UAH returns to Huntsville after a three-game sweep of Union, winning 10-6, 7-1, and 12-5 against the Bulldogs. 

Hunter Tillman led the way for UAH against Union as he went 4-for-9 at the plate with three RBI. The Chargers are led at the plate by Landon Ezzell this season who has the most hits in the GSC with 76 and the second highest batting average of .437. 

On the mound, the Chargers are led by Will Hotalen who has posted a 2.09 ERA on the season in 47.1 innings pitched. Andre Orselli has put together a 3.26 ERA on the year with a 5-2 record marked by three complete games and 58 strikeouts, the fifth highest total in the GSC. 

Auburn Montgomery is led at the plate by Kasey Clark who holds a .386 batting average with 17 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 53 RBI. Zach Dew boasts a .331 batting average for the Warhawks with nine doubles, a pair of home runs, and 29 RBI. 

On the mound, the Warhawks are highlighted by Clay Slagle who has posted a 5.12 ERA with 35 strikeouts and 63.1 innings pitched with a 3-5 record. 

Following this weekend's series, the Chargers will play in the GSC Tournament, with their seeding and opponent to be determined by this weekend's games.
